What I know about beaches close to me
 |
| Here you can see the top part has sunlight and it is called the Sunlit Zone. It is the smallest zone but has the most plants and animals. The Twilight Zone has almost no sunlight and has less creatures, but is larger than the Sunlit Zone. Then the Midnight Zone. This zone has creatures we don't know about or very little know about them. In the Midnight Zone you can see there are clams and rocks on the bottom and vents from the earths core letting off steam and chemicals that the tube worms feed off of. Then there are a few jellies and fish. I didn't draw the Abyss Zone, because I didn't know about it till later. But very little is known about it and I don't know what kind of creatures live down there. Scientist are still trying to make machines and sub's to be able to safely dive to the very bottom of the ocean. |
These two photos are of some seaweed we found. I thought it was interesting because it had holes in it with rocks stuck in the holes. Doesn't look neat?

| We went to one of the beaches down the road from me, and found that the sand was not fine like all the other beaches. Normally you can't see the different individual pieces of rock. This sand you could actually see all the pebbles with your bare eyes. |

| At this beach there is a big cliff surrounding the whole beach. On the cliffs there are lots of trees and this is some really cool roots I found. |

I am trying to make all the rocks balance and make a Inuksuit.
I found this challenging. |

Trying to find flat rocks to make the Inuksuit.

Here is the finished product of our Inuksuit. I found some kelp roots and decided to make a head out of it!
There are so many things to investigate when it comes to oceans; we certainly do not know enough about them! This was a good beginning though :)
